and I still havent pulled my boat for winter.

Damn. Shouldve 2 weeks ago when it was 68.

The snow on my deck was 16" deep this am.

I pulled mine too long ago...

Gotta hate law school finals prep...

We didn't get quite 16". My son said he measured 10", but I think it was even less than that on top of the truck this morning...

My God, you poor people, all that snow, must be awfull shoveling it.
I live in the great white north about 20 minutes drive from the 49th parallel. Today it is a balmy 4 degrees celius and no snow... imagine that in the land of igloos. Mind you it is The Pacific Northwest and we are blessed with the warm Japanese current and often enough with El Nino currents. When we do get snow it is only a few centimeters of the wet stuff that dissappears in a couple days, no big deal. Gotta love the Port of Vancouver.
Just can't resist when I hear about snow.
PS. I have been to Florida several times (love that place!) and am well aware of how warm it is there so I don't need to hear about that.

The gentleman who purchased our X was supposed to drive up today and pick it up tomorrow. He made a wise decision to hold off a few days when he saw the 4-6" we're getting tonight. It's coming down now, and there's a fire in the fireplace. Barb has her hot chocolate and I have my rum egg nog.

Alright - I'll be the one to rub it in. We were going to go sailing this weekend (out of Marina del Rey, CA, refer to last month's "Getting Together at MDR" link under Events) , but instead we are going to the desert (Palm Springs) to visit, bike & sunbathe.

"But it's going to be sunny and 75 degrees this weekend", I said.

Wife said "Don't worry, we'll go next weekend" . . . . . .


And we will!


But hey, I spent 4 years in St. Louis, where there are six different words to describe sleet.

As I've said before: Winter is the best time to sit around a fire, plan your new modifications, and count all the money you don't have to pay in California taxes.

You got a point about the taxes, Maybe we can trade 1/2 our taxes for half your snow. or you guys in the snow belt ever think about putting skis on the Mac to sail on those frozen lakes. That would be a kick. Better yet just leave it on the trailer and add a third steerable wheel.

And Randy Moon, he normally gets it first but this wierd one came from the north west, missed Witchita all together.

It really wasn't that bad here. Yeah, you had your normal idiots. It did take me much longer to get home from work, but partly my own fault.

I work in Olathe, but I live in Shawnee. Yeah, yeah, I know they're both in JoCo... If it makes you hate me any less, I used to live in Independence, MO; but moved uptown about a year and half ago...

Anyway, I heard something about a wreck near my I35 exit, so I got off a little early (no my wife wasn't complaining) and took side streets. But, hull, they were worse than the expressway...

I think this morning was worse though. Maybe just my bad luck, but I had one of those tow truck driving nuts tailgating me and sliding around like a mad-man. Talk about a clenched commute... I was sure I could stop, if needed, but knew he couldn't... I lost track of all the business he 'almost' made for himself...

Hmmm... I dunno. Zero income tax, minimal property tax, and a 6.5% sales tax. It's hard to beat.

Problem is our snow and California taxes are equally out of proportion, so I don't think it would end up a square deal. We'd both end up overtaxed and frozen!

MY name is Don and I'm the guy purchasing Moe's Mac 26X 2002.
I actually have been refered to as a "southern gentelman" befor probably cause I'm from New Orleans. I love boating and kept my Mac26X in a slip in Orleans Marina by the name of C-Opal and thats why I am buying a another one from Moe cause mine was declared a total loss after Katerina came thru on Aug. 29th., 2005. Thanks Moe for parting with something that I know you must have loved, she will be well cared for and will see many pleasurable days on the waters of Lake Pontchatrain and the gulf coast. Also Moe I know we all appreciate your input as a moderator don't become a stranger.

Hey Don. Sure glad you aren't out on the road in this.

I managed to get my Ohio bride down the Gulf Coast a few times, from Biloxi to Panama City, and out on the water in my hometown of Pensacola and Orange Beach, Alabama. But my biggest regret is that I didn't get her to New Orleans before Katrina.

It's encouraging to here that it's starting to regroup already. I know it won't be long before it's back even better than it was!
