I was looking through the mod page for some ideas on mounting my ST 4000 and started wondering how many of the older guys are still around. Ive been here for at least five years. The days before we registered to post. Back then I read all of the post from the guy sold me T L Sea. Now I cant even remember his name. Ill look his name up when I get home tonight. I suspect that most are gone and probably left when they sold their boats. It would be interesting to see how many of the old timers are still around.

Bought Wildest Dream in 5/01 and was a member of the old board before that.

I sold my "nearly new" bimini to Capt Steve over a year & a half after I bought it.
I was lurking about, here and on Sailnet, for a full year before buying my new boat in Aug '99.

Hello:
I joined a loooooooong time ago. There were about 100 users registered and ??? lurkers. I would like to think I'm one of the first, only Heath would know (if he kept the old archives).

Since 1998 or early 99 I think. My first post on the internet was on this site. My boat is a '97 that I bought lightly used in 98.

Bought my 97X in early summer 99. Lurked the board for around a year before then and made my decision to buy a Mac based on conversations on this and the other Mac boards.
Been pi$$ people off here and there since then.
On edit, I think Ive had 2 or 3 alias' on this board (forgetfulness, not stealth) and was sorely dissappointed that I had to start again as a cabin boy when the register function happened and I resigned to this river scow......

If you get reset again, then you must have POd one of the moderators...they can turn your hulls blue too, if you really make them mad.

I think we bought our 98 26X in "99 and I started hanging out here before we bought it. It was the board that convinced us it was what we wanted.

Was it January 2004 that we switched formats? Remember how many old timers complained.

I've visiting Heath's site since it started, and was on Sailnet and it's predecessor since at least 95.

Yeah, I enjoyed the old board when I could come in as 'Rauhbautz', 'Lawyer Dagget', 'Mr. Peepers', ect. and snipe away at guys while hiding in cyberspace.
Any of you old timers remember those 'characters'?.

Joined in 1998. Went to Miami to see wildman Steve from Performance Marine to buy my first Mac. Bought a fully equiped 26X (no motor) for $18K and towed her back to Daytona Beach. Sailed off the coast and Intercoastal for a year, before selling her and buying a 28 ft catamaran. It was a Intercat 1500 which was more like a floating condo than a sailboat. Sold that 3 months ago and now I'm going to Hawaii on tuesday morning. Jeeze, sounds like I'm getting to be an "old timer". Mentioned once before about the forum back then vs now. Great bunch of guys now. Can't say that about years previous....Mike.
I'm still here!

I still follow this board, even though I sold my Mac over a year ago. I have followed it for ages. I'm always interested in whats going on here. I am now sailing a Catalina 30, and I miss my Mac26S a lot.
