Where are you all going for Replacement parts? Power sailing Center in Ohio is gone. Also, would like to get a cockpit table and Dowsar seems to be it. (there prices seem to be very high)

Playmaker, do you know what happened to PowerSailing in Burton, Ohio?
I tried to call them yesterday and got no response.
Are they out of business?
I have had good service from Bill at Boats for Sale and from Blue Water Yachts .

Keep in mind when you're looking at Dowsar prices that they are Canadian dollars. As of today worth .86 per U.S. dollar, it's equivalent to about a 15% discount, but then you have to add in shipping which is bound to be more.
That being said, their prices still seem pretty steep.
Ran into the same thing with Powersailing several months ago; I was bummed and hoping it was temporary but it appears not. They seeem to have diasspeared quite suddenly; anybody know what happened? They had the best prices of anyone since Havencraft disppeared, itself now gone for several years. It appears there are no parts sources remaining on the East Coast. I know you can usually have stuff shipped from anywhere, but it's not the same.

And I wonder... do you also get nicked for import duty as well?

IIRC, you get nicked more than a notch ...
more like a gash if I read correctly!

Good question on the import duty. I bought my 22" wheel from a dealer in Ontario via eBay. Though the shipping from there to here was pretty steep (actually a bit more than the seller charged me) I didn't get hit with import duty. Was I lucky?

I got my dodger from Dowsar. Did not have import duty but, the carrier, FedEx or UPS, charged a healthy fee for clearing it.

Luke, I don't know what happened to Power Sailing- They were great!Several items were stolen from my boat at the marina-called them and they had everything and reasonably priced by my frugal standards. I'll keep looking. Maybe the dealer has the replacement plexiglass for the side of the console. When the crooks were taking stuff they decided to kick it.

playmaker, from my search two years ago I don't believe anyone carries replacement acrylic parts for the X anymore. I eventually got a replacement window for my X from Blue Water yachts, but I had to wait several weeks for them to get around to making it from patterns they had; you could probably do the same for the pedestal panel if you're willing to wait.
For the pedestal panel, I wouldn't hesitate to make one myself. The dimensions are not particularly critical and you should be able to get the right color acrylic from a plastic supply place or via the 'net.

Chip, That is the way I'm going to go. I'll cut them myself once I find the appropriate acryllic. Being a ice hockey player I call everything plexiglass. Anyway thanks.

Plexiglas big "P" one "s" is the Rohm & Haas brand name (and by far the best known) for the generic plastic "acrylic".
You can learn way more than you ever wanted to know about it by scrolling down to my post about halfway through this
thread.
It doesn't much matter. If you ask for Plexiglas, most plastics distributors will sell you generic acrylic and won't even tell you it's not "real" Plexiglas.

I just happened to ring Blue Water today about a starboard forward (dinette) window for my X and they think they may even have a few in stock. Price seemed reasonable for factory bits - only $20.00.
Maybe they have your console glass, too?
BWY also told me they sell a cockpit table, though it's not on their website... it's 14" wide, made of Starboard (I think) and sells with the grab bar and all attachments for around $212.00 (IIRC). Give'em a call.
