Kenyon alcohol stove

Post by ckiyooka »

We are having difficulty using our Kenyon alcohol stove in our new 2006 MacGregor 26M The stove is very slow to heat up. It has taken about an hour to boil water for tea. At other times it will not even light. I have added a bit of fuel to the wick. (The Kenyon rep's idea to obtain heat faster.) I have put less alcohol in the stove, even suctioned out fuel that was in the stove, a dealer's suggestion for better performance. The dealer's suggestion did improve performance one night but the next morning the stove wouln't even light even when a bit more fuel was added. Any ideas?

Kenyon Stove

Thanks for your suggestions. We will try new stove alcohol, that may be the problem. The Link provided was also interesting. Our Kenyon stove is not pressurized though. I think that the link refers to pressurized Kenyon stoves.
