Is there any group or group of interested Mac owners who may be interested in starting some sort of coop in which a Mac owner from say Florida (Bahamas) would be willing to swap time with a Mac owner from California (Catalina Island)? Better yet, does anyone know of some sort of a deal like this in say Spain or the Med? Is there a group that already exists like this? Thanks.

I've wondered about the same idea. We're based in the Northwest, and I've toyed with the prospects. I've exchanged e'mails back and forth with a fellow from Italy who contributes to the discussion forum here. He lives south of Naples, and has an X which he rents out during the summer. It seems like an idea worth exploring, especially with the high fuel cost impacting long distance trailering.

Does that gentleman know of any other people who do the same in Europe? About what does he charge per day/week? Thanks.

We could be game for this idea if someone is savy enough to generate some sort of document that covers the liability aspect of the deal. It would be very cool to vacation at a different place, and do it sailing on a Mac like the one you have back home. Experience levels would need to be sorted out beforehand and I'm not sure how to quantify that.
I wonder why there hasn't been much discussion about this post?
