As far as I know, there is no Bimini that "comes with" any Mac. You must mean the one you can get as an option from the factory.
I got mine HERE
You can see in these pics that it is quite high and does not interfere with the boom.

Cam,
I don't know the dimensions of the "standard"
bimini - but when I first saw it, I thought that there must be a way to get more shade. There are a few posts about larger aftermarket biminis on this site. Here's mine, from the Mods page http://macgregorsailors.com/cgi-bin/mod ... record=681

Softopper makes a bimini specifically for the Mac 26 X and M. The brothers both had a 26x and made these for their own boats. I've gotten cushions and other items from them and their service is great.

Ya, PITA for sure. I still get my main halyard caught on those freakin bolts up the mast. I want to cut the excess off, but have not gotten around to it yet. As for the track catching my spin halyard led aft, usually it's clean, but occasionally, like in Highlanders first M sail photo, it gets caught. No tricks yet, I just make sure it's clean before I hoist the spin. How might one avoid getting their line led aft caught on the track like that? Or the end of a bolt 6-feet up their mast? Any tricks?

Softopper Bimini!!! It's great and cheap too!!
Just got mine and installed it in 1 hour.
Sunbrella fabric, yeah, it's aluminum and not stainless but
for under 400$ delivered, who cares.
It fits the M perfectly and I've had several people comment
on how nice it looks. The blue even matches the main cover.
Cheers, Brian
