My motor mount lost it's spring(lifting ability).
SO I replaced it last year with a new, bigger and better(?) motor mount capable of working with a 225 pound motor.
My motor weighs about 75 pounds.
The new, dtronger motor mount has less lifting ability than my old, non-working mount. In fact, I VENTURE to say it has virtually NO LIFTING ability whatsoever.
IS this "normal"?
MOTOR MOUNTS for kicker motors
Re: MOTOR MOUNTS for kicker motors
I think your motor is plain too
heavy for any lifting ability to happen.
A V25 is rated for around a 10 to 12 hp
motor I believe.
reducing to a 5 hp should make it feasible
to lift as required.
what hp is your motor?

Re: MOTOR MOUNTS for kicker motors
I had the opposite problem on my kicker mount - it was designed with a 25 HP motor rating and was way too powerfully sprung for my 4HP kicker (about 50 #)
I removed one of the two springs and it worked well.
A 225# motor on a tip up mount sounds a but large, imho.
