Mainsail Reefing System
- Boat Type: Boat Type
(see attached drawing) All lines are long enough to reach from reefing points on sail to respective
cleats w/ sail full extended. Location of the cleats is coordinated w/ location of cleats and eyestraps on my lazy jack system.
The aft reefing line, when not in use, is wrapped on the cleats. (same for other lines). It (aft line) is hand fed thru the appropriate cringle and
cleated at time of reefing.
To reef: (1) Engage topping lift. (2) Lower halyard to bring reefing point cringles down to boom.(3)Haul the the appropriate forward reefing line and cleat it, then engage the aft line and cleat it. (4) Release topping lift anf re-adjust halyard.
