Re: Repowering with a Suzuki DF90a
Greetings, I have been following this and many other repower threads since the Admiral gave me the green light over a year ago. Last year just sucked all around but 2021 is the year my Honda 30hp moves to my fishing boat and Untethered is re-powered. I was originally looking at E-tec 90hp but with B...

Its time to Re-power
Greetings, After 10 years of sailing with a Honda 30, the Admiral has finally given me the green light for a new motor. I am still researching the different motor options but was wondering if anyone has looked into or has any thoughts on a transom mounted engine motor bracket similar to the one in t...

Lewmar winch maintenance
Greetings, I have got to perform some long overdue maintenance on all four of my winches. There is a great video on YouTube that covers the teardown of a Lewmar 6 but it has no sound. It looks like it was filmed on a Mac. Does anyone have a link to on online guide or video that covers our particular...

Re: 26X New Gas Tank Install
Greetings, I know this thread is older and it might not seem applicable now but my 2000X came with a set of Aussie Bob's locker covers. I know that these items are no longer being sold but I was curious to see if these can somehow be replicated for interested parties. I do not know what protocols or...

Re: Did not start our trip today
Ris, I don't know how slow you'll be heading north but I'll be at my place in Atlantic Beach between the 11th and the 21st. Atlantic Beach sits along the ICW where it crosses the St. John's River. If you need any logistical support or if you want to visit the downtown Jacksonville area let me know. ...

I used to visit Andros Island several times a year to conduct Anti-Submarine Warfare and Search and Rescue exercises at the AUTEC facility. There is a deep trench just off the coast that our submarines used to try to hide in. An amazing time and a free trip to the Bahamas, courtesy of the US Navy. T...

Greetings, I used an Intex Seahawk identical to Herschel's for about three years when I kept my boat moored on the St. John's. It towed great, was easy to set up and break down from the cockpit or foredeck and it stored easily below decks. Like Herschel's mine had a valve failure that make the boat ...

Re: PROP - Aluminium or Stainless
I have been running the Piranha prop for about 4 years and think they are great. Granted, I only have a Honda 30hp hanging from my 2000 :macx: so my top speed is sh*t compared to most but for the cost and ease of swapping or replacing blades it can't be beat. I noticed no difference in performance b...

NE Florida is also a favorite habitat for the osprey. They are an impressive bird to watch hunt (although I don't apreciate the fish and rodent bones and guano left on my deck after they've had thier feast). I had several pinwheels tied to my standing rigging in an effort to dissuade them from roost...

Kadet, I have been looking at the Vexilar system as a way to updrage/modify/backup my existing Garmin Nav and Sounding capabilities. I have several Android devices that are GPS enabled and this seems like an easy way to acheive my goals. I have a few questions regarding your set up. 1. Once I establ...

Captron,
I had to use a 2x4 as lever to force mine through the sealant. I just can't remember how I had the board positioned or where the fulcrum was. I'll be on the boat Sunday, I'll see if I can jar my memory...

Re: Anyone in the Daytona Beach to Jacksonville area..
Sumner, I asked a friend of mine to do a quick inspection of my mooring and he reported that my mooring ball has been cut and the chain to the mooring itself is resting on the bottom of the river. Unfortunately it is unusable at this time. Apparently FWC has been cracking down on derelict boats in t...
