Re: New Gas Tank issue/problem.
Took the filter out of the loop and just left the bracket on without filter but nothing happened without the filter. The below deck Moeller tank is about 1/4 full,..connection at the tank is OK. OK, so if I am reading you correctly, you have the hose from the engine to the bulb, then from the bulb ...

Re: New Gas Tank issue/problem.
OK,...I'm starting to loose it now :( Purchase a new Moeller (bigger) bulb. Tried it without the filter and re connected the lines direct to tank....and nothing. The bulb arrow is in the right direction > and the fittings are connected on both the BF50, and the new Moeller below deck tank. Tried to ...

Re: New Gas Tank issue/problem.
Take the filter out of the loop and see how you do. I suspect that's your problem. It's not the vent, since you'd at least have enough air in the tank to prevent collapsing the bulb and to get the thing started. As for the pull up distance, mine pulls just fine from the below-decks tank. Took the f...

Re: New Gas Tank issue/problem.
That is significantly more lift from the lower tank location. disconnect the hose fitting at the engine end. lower the buld as low as possible below the engine. Get a storage container to recieve the gas, squeeze the bulb drawing fuel from the tank directly into an open discharge hose.. After primi...

New Gas Tank issue/problem.
Install a new polyethlene tank below deck, and enclosed it (to specs), and then installed a fuel/water separator in between the tank, and BF50A. Have a perko filler with vent for receiving the fuel. Checked all fittings for leaks. When I try to prime the motor with the bulb,..all I get is a colaspse...

Anyone know where I can get a shop manual for the BF50A?
Been looking for a reasonably priced shop manual for the BF50A year 2002. Would anyone have a used one for sale or know of a discount seller? Thank you for your leads in advance

Re: Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
Problem Solved - Removed the E10 gas,...flushed the engine with MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether) real gas added with Sea Foam. Install a 10 micron water separator including an inline fuel filter. Replaced the BF50 fuel filter, and it nows runs like a charm :) The Dangers of running your outboard w...

Re: Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
I have had the same problem, and it's really annoying. I use fuel stabilizer, and fresh fuel, and I have a water seperator, and the regular fuel filter in the line, and still I get the idle problem when it's warmed up. Runs fine until it's warmed up,then the low idle starts. I ran the motor at nearly 45...

Re: Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
Thanks for all your input guys. I will try the idle adjustment today, and let you know if this works or not. Also as someone mentioned here,...there might be an issue with carb gunk, and I have heard that acetone added to the fuel in small amounts will also help clean the carb. Has anyone heard of t...

Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
I've checked some of the forums here regarding the BF50 but nothing on what I'm looking for so if someone could help,..it would be greatly appreciated. I've taken our recently purchased 2001 for 3 trips on our Lake here, and keep getting problems with low idle (around 200 t0 300) and the engine stal...

Thanks for all the tips guys
I will try stretching it out (no asphalt here Richard but thanks) on the interlock driveway, and try the 1800 watt hair dryer (thanks Tangentair, and Grey Beard) and see what happens. But seeing the kinks are light,..I will keep it anyways and it just might straighten out as Trouts Dream suggested. ...

CDI Furler Kinks "HELP"!!
We purchased a 26X last November that was in storage for over a year, and the roller furling system was hanging loosely on the side of the mast and over the bow. Problem I now have is trying to take the kinks (2 kinks) out of it, and have check out my options in the forums here. I've tried clamping ...
