Re: Spreader Bent

I bought them from ACE Hardware after de-masting. Exact diameter under $10.00. Just cut to length. Lifelines with quick disconnect on the bow for ease of putting the mast in "trailer" position.

autopilot - wheel drive versus tiller drive

I'm looking for a autopilot for many years now and finally the admiral aggrees :D Now the question becomes: Wheel pilot? Small cocpit makes it even smaller with larger wheel Tiller drive? Could be mounted below and hooked up to the stearing linkage. If pilot is not in use, set on standby <600$ syste...

Plastimo Flexible Water Tank

Need your input We have installed a Plastimo Flexible Water Tank (32 gal) underneath the rear berth to feed the shower as well as the galley faucet. This mod was done in spring 2008. Since then we only have trouble with mildew and smelly water. We hardly can clean the tank inside even by removing it...

US Boat Sailing in Canada

We are planning to spend our summer vacation in the North Channel of Lake Huron. Reading on Canadian regulations we are wondering what licenses do we need? (We have the Boat US boating license and the international Captains patent incl. VHF License). Our Boat is registered in Illinois and we are pla...

rich mans auto pilot

I have been looking for a autopilot for quite some time and I was hoping Santa would bring me one. :? So now I’m looking again into this subject and I was e-bay googling the Raymarine sport pilot since it is no longer manufactured. No luck. So I was looking around and found the “SmartPilot X-...

On the invoice they call it 1156-PBC-WHP9 White LED Lamp - Warm White - 3100K.

The speck sheet calls for 1156-PBC-WWHP9

If you click on order the 1156-PBC-WHP9 you can choose between Warm White and Blue White

I was drilling through the hull above the rudders and was planning to cut the liner on the inside. Surprisingly I found that I had hand with access to the bolts coming through. This left me room for a back-up plate manufactured to the bolt pattern from the motor mount. It was a very tight are to wor...

LED interior light

Finally I found the correct LED replacement bulbs for the interior. The admiral was insisting on “Warm White” LED’s. I replaced them and you hardly can see a difference to the original ones. The power consumption went from 1.2 A for one light to 0.8 A if all 4 (6) LED fixtures are on. What a differe...

Stern seat = best investment. We spend the big $$$ for the seats and don’t want to miss them anymore. I needed a place to mount the cockpit speakers. :D The seats increase the usable space dramatically and people love to sit on there in the shade of the bimini while I steer the boat from the cockpit...

It was about spring 2007. I see these boards all over the place Menards, Lowes, Home Depot. The most luck you might have if you tell the people that you want to build a new bath room and need something for the wall. It comes in sheets 4’ X 8’

Bill from Boats 4 sail was installing rope clutches on our boat. They are through bolted. In the cabin there are two ~ 3” diameter holes in the inner liner covered with round mirror discs. I don’t know where Bill got those disks from or if they come standard with the boat. The discs are secured with...

I have used fiber glass board from Home Depot. The thin stuff you use for showers. I have cut them to size and used silicone to secure them in place and separate the new compartment from the bilge. There are three departments separated by uprights out of the 1 mm fiber glass board. The board is rest...
