Re: How can I remove rubbing compound from non-skid?
When I polished mine, I got some compound caught in the cross-hatching non-skid. I used a dry medium bristle palm brush(common for dish washing) and just brushed with the hatching on the non-skid. Most of it came out that way, the I did the same thing with an old t-shirt under the brush and it polis...

Re: Boat lift and insurance
Willy, Thanks. I do have a trailer and I am going to weigh it when it comes out this fall. I figure about 4,000# loaded also. I purchased the new 6000# vertical lift and had it installed Friday. The insurance quote for the lift was 3/$100. I will have $8000 in this lift. It's alot of money to sink t...

Boat lift and insurance
Hello all, So the 4th of July started out with loading my family on the boat :macm: , which was on my 4000# cantilever boat lift. As we were lowering it into the water, the lift legs collapsed on one side leaving us hanging on the lift at a very odd angle. We were able to power off of the lift witho...

Who has a BBQ? Which one?
Hello, I've been looking for a BBQ grill for my :macm: and I think I have it narrowed down to either a Magma Party Kettle 2 or a Magma Newport. I would mount either grill using a vertical stanchion mount. I like the cost and weight of the kettle grill, but the size and versatility of the Newport. An...

Forward hatch replacement knob
Hello all, My forward hatch plastic knob cracked off last year and I just got around to finding a replacement. I found that BWY had a replacement kit for the entire assembly for about $15.00, but I only needed the plastic knob part as I still had the tapered bolt. I found a suitable replacement from...

Fiberglass restorer
Hello all, My 26M had name stickers applied to it from the P.O. for a few years. The hull has apparently yellowed very slightly as the sticker covered area is whiter than the rest of the boat. So far, I haven't found a way to remove the slight color difference. Has anyone here tried this gelcoat res...

Jib roller furler rigging
Ok, I decided to take my jib off of the roller furler last fall to store the sail inside and straighten the furler. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of how nice and neateverything was attached and I can't find any references to this in my manuals or online searches. I have the sail back on and ...

Re: Ventilation on a 26m, how?
I like the hatch in a hatch idea. It makes me feel better about cutting holes in my boat. If for some reason I completely screw up the install, I can replace the hatch instead of trying to patch the hole.
