Re: Garage
Yeah we get lots of wind here in St. John’s, NL, canada… im probably going with 9ft doors and just remove the mast before i park it. It will only be moved in for winter storage and removed for the other 6 months a year.

Garage
I’m building a new garage in my property and would love to use one bay to store my boat in the winter. I’m thinking an 9 ft wide garage door by 8 ft high should be fine. With a garage dept of 32 ft.

Kicker
On my 26x I have a 50 HP, but its rather old. I'm really looking to put a kicker/back up on there for a few years until I get the cash to get a new 50 hp. I'm looking at a 6 hp 4 stroke. For emergencies to get myself back to the maria, is there any concern with a 6 hp, or should I try to anchor back...

Re: Free sails
Any idea if the jib will fit a 26x?
Also any chance you have cushion covers remaining ? Don’t need the foam but would solve to get my hands on some cushion covers

Re: Is A MacGregor the right boat for me?
Macgregor sounds perfect for your situation. the 26s was my first sail boat. I took a few lessons from an instructor to get me comfortable. Sometimes they'll do it on your boat. Not sure why there's no sailboats out your way but I found the same in my home town, but it is fantastic for sailing and h...

Re: Rudder ropes
Thanks seems like I tie them off like others but i don’t understand how they’ll kick up if they are tied off to a cleat.

Rudder ropes
My two rudders have a rope to raise and lower them. When lowered how does one secure the rope as I’m always nervous leaving it loose around the motor prop? I use to tie it on to the cleat but I’m realizing now it could result in rudder damage if I strike anything

Re: trailering
It does help. My plan is to also use a rope tied to the dock to be able to pull my self at a 90 to the trailer while my wife helps guide me in… Nice trailer, does it fit the boat well? What is the model and did you have to size it for the boat? From the picture looks like a ton of bolted connections...

Re: trailering
I’ve had a heck of a time loading mine on the boat.. two points.. 1. when I get it up to the nose cranked in, when its out of the water i find the boat is pulled back 6-8 inches. I’m assuming that is stretch in the racket strap.. I’m concerned with putting too much pressure on the strap that I’ll pu...

Motor disconnecting
In the absence of having the bwy setup, does anyone have any simple ways the secure the engine from flopping when I disconnect it from the rudders ? I’m thinking two ropes to the cleats at the stern but they’re a high angle so I’m not sure it will work

Trailer overhang
I’ve been looking at new trailers as mine is old and rusted . I’ve noticed the factory trailer has the rear of the boat overhanging about 2 ft. If read online this is bad for Fiberglas boats… they should be supported to the transom. Wondering what everyone’s experience has been and if it’s not worth...
