Re: First Time Singlehanding

Docking is easier if you arrive on the windward side and let the wind push you to the dock, and do the opposite when departing. The wind will help even w/o the sails.

Re: HELP!

Raising the mast on a V24 is not a one-man operation...Unless you're a gorilla! There is a mast raising kit, which you might have and not recognize. There are many posts here, and in the 26X forum on mast raising. Take a few minutes to learn the layout of this site, and find the archives. There's mu...

Lots of boats are no longer being made...Why would that be an issue?

Re: Outboard Motor-mount replacement

Mike: Will you guys be staying on board on overnights or in motels? Staying on board sure cuts down on the cost.

Re: Centerboard trunk

I have never heard of a venture 22 or 222 having issues with the trunk housing. They were built like tanks. A picture would be helpful, as would your responses to questions in the above posts.

Re: outboard mounting

Some owners of the S install a motor mount because of the limited movement. The space freed up provides a place to keep the gas can.

Re: Motor running hot

If the boat is on the trailer you might try running the engine in a barrel or large can and add white vinegar to the water. Don't let the water get hot, and keep adding vinegar as the water sloshes out of the can. Do for 10 or 15 minutes. The mild acid in the vinegar breaks up unwanted deposits (sal...

Is your furler mod in the mods section? I'd like to see the plans. I love making inexpensive knock-offs of the real thing.
