Hey folks,
I just tried Bill's RAT (Bill at boats4sail.com...Rig Adjusting Tool) for adjusting shrouds and stays. I think this thing is the real deal. I don't know how many of you have tried the tool that powersailing sells or may have made one of your own like I did but, this one frees up both hands for placing the pins and ring dings. Really saves on skinned knuckles and all the experlatives that go along with that. I can now adjust my rigging without breaking a swet or making the family run and hide. Quite the little invention. I made room in my tool box for one.

RAT is the real deal...

All that's required to adjust shroud tension is a pencil and paper, and having a few fingers left.
Check the tension when the mast us up. Make notes on what you want to tighten/loosen, counting all the little holes and where the pin is, etc.
Drop the mast, make the adjustment. Then, see if you can get the mast back up again without something bursting in your face.
