Mike FIGMENT,
Can you hookup a autohelm to that type of wheel?
It looks awesome.

Yes , it cost a bundle.

Speaking of OUCH :? I just got a call from the club, someone ran into my boat and put a hole in it.

Who said moorings were safer?

MMMike,
Sorry to hear of the hole. I tell you its hard to go a whole boating season without something happening.
Hope the damage is not to much

MMMike,

Sorry about the hole in your boat and just when you could enjoy that beautiful ships wheel !!

WHen you get a chance can you tell me what is mounted directly above the center shaft of the wheel on your pedestal ? Is it a folding bracket for your portable GPS or cell phone ?

I am trying to locate a good location for my Portable Magellan GPS 320 as the top of the pedestal is tied up with the Garmin Depth finder.

Ahh, this should give me the leverage I need to really destroy the steering gear in my 1998 X helm.

Bracketabove wheel

Post by MMMike »

The thingy you see is a small speaker for UHF radio.
Bracket on top is for fish finder/ speed/ depth.

Auto pilot ...........next on my list.

The hole is really two holes. Fist size damage on the combing right under bimni bracket , then a smaller one six inches down and a small split in the
rub rail , plus a scratch.

Made by bow roller bracket of Gent on the next mooring over.
He says he will pay. Talked to Blue Water , they say a rub rail must be replace in one piece. Three or four guys a couple of hours on the hard. Thats a lot of man hours. Might take some bucks from him and fix it myself.

Any one pay to fix a hole fist size ??? how much??
