Looking for small but vital piece of hardware ...

Post by pierres »

Good day all

I made the stupid mistake to drop the stainless U on the gooseneck of my 26X .. and it end up in the "drink" :o ( even if St Patrick's day is soon -- no sure I want to drink that[i/] green stuff )

Since I am sure that I am not clear, I am looking for the U seen on the left side of the picture of the gooseneck mod
( Sorry, I not allowed to use URL in post)

Any suggestion of where I could find such a thing will be greatly appreciated.

We still have some snow here ... so it is not an emergency .. yet

Thank you

Pierre

Actually links are quite permitted, and fairly easy to create.

But here's the posting you reference.

A factory authorized source of Mac parts is
Blue Water Yachts
I'd give 'em a call. I've had good luck there, nice folks.

Just to offer a little piece of mind...........Try thinking about dropping a S/S 1/4" x 2" eye-bolt in place to secure the boom to the mast. Then a small 3/16" shackle could connect the corner ring in the main to the eye-bolt........Should work.

Cheers.........Ron

Thanks for giving him a hand, Argo.

But FYI, as a newbie, he can't post links or pics yet. Has to wait for his 10th posting before he can do that. This policy helps prevent spammers on the board from posting Vi-Ag-Ra adverts or nasty pictures.

Ok

Obviously BWYacht was the easiest/best solution.

Thanks !

A Drill, a saw, a vice, a piece of 1/8th stainless and a little elbow grease.

You should have a new one by tomorrow afternoon.
