hehehehehe it becomes an obsession,you will find yourself up late at night whilst all else are asleep,hanging over your computer reading this website,dreaming up what mods to do,checking out the mods page,going to chandlers and, walking around and staring aimlessly at all the electronic gagetary,dont forget the harbours and marinas always good for an ogle.
I bought my
last august,i then spend a mad two weeks trying to get it through boat safety certification and other stuff for the UK,the big day came and i trailered it down to the estuary,the trailer was to long it got stuck,i did not know if i wanted to beat up the guy who built the slipway or cry anyhow my atempt to get it in the water failed and winter was coming so i put her in the river and motored up and down.
TONIGHT
i dont care if i will freeze the extremities off of my personage ,tonight i will launch and as long as the forecast holds up i intend to do a 30nm sail
the boat is packed,just got to load water and food then SPLASHDOWN
its been a long winter and i can see it coming to an end

NEW DELIVERY
daydreamerbob...Aren't they a lot of comedians...couldn't stop laughing...all they say is good stuff. Be prepared that not all your mods will be successful...I fitted another hound higher on the mast to raise the furler drum...it looked good...launched the
to sail it south down the coast from my home harbour to Fremantle Harbour, and then up the Swan River to my swing mooring...usually a dream trip. This time the furler would not unfurl..still working on the problem, had to manually unfurl the jib to get some control...So not only a hole in the ocean into which to throw money but something to worry about ALL THE TIME...AND DON'T WE LOVE IT!

Hope you've got plenty of warm gear, looks like it's going to be damp and chilly this weekend (don't think I'll be going out

thanks rick
,ive revised the plan,the forecast has been upgraded from a 3-4 to a 5-6,so ill trailer the boat down to the harbour and put her in,that wipes out the 38nm ride
but the last thing that i want to do i to set out in weather that im not confident in,dont want to scare the beegeebees out of my wife and daughter
the boat will be going in on sat morning high tide

We're being tormented by the weather. It's been 60s and near 70 during the week. Weekend forecast is 6 inches of snow, highs in the 20s. We're missing our Spring and will jump right into Summer.
Figures this year Spring is so cold. That's because we have this big blue behomoth in our yard waiting to get her first dunk in the water. At least I'm not waiting for delivery.

This can keep you occupied for hours daydreamerbob:
Get familiar with a good graphics program on your PC. Copy each of the crummy drawing of the Mac (sections profile top down views) then redraw them all to scale.
Better yet, get a freebie 3D CAD program and tediously redraw your Mac so you can 'walk' (or more realistically crawl) thru even nook and cranny.
Browse this site for the many mods people have posted. Then think about and create scale drawing of all your planned mods. Add these to your graphics so you can get an idea of how they might work for you (before you start drilling and sawing):. Rotate them, skew then, enlarge then shrink them so you can determine and dream in advance about what will this thing-a-me I'm planning to add look/work like here... or should it go here?
A few examples:
*How can I run all the lines aft to the cockpit so I can single hand it from the safety of the cockpit?
*what other mods do i need in the rigging like reefing systems, lazy jacks;
*where will i put that fridge/cooler and how big can it be to fit there?;
*where should I put the TV, stereo, AC, GPS Chart plotter, laptop...?
*how can i improve access to the under-bunk stowage areas so I dont have to dismantle the interior to find a can of beans?
*do I want to install an aft bulkhead, how can I get that to fit; what will it look like, how do I solve the consequential ventilation problems? ;
*Will the dinghy/tender I'd like to have fit on board - where can I stow so it wont foul all the lines? How can I launch and retrieve it with a minimum of effort? ( my latest project - I'll post some pics when I've got it working)
It was stormy where I live today. No sailing, but I spent many happy hours browsing options, finding ideas and figuring out and discarding possible designs.
Oh and don't forget to compile a spreadsheet where you can add in the dimensions (and weight!) of every single item you add

Hi Rick
I made the water at 6am on saturday,i had a short sail(jib only) on sunday morning.It was freezing cold,that east wind would have cut you in two,it was too dangerous to go out beyond the sand bar,it looked like a surfers dream if you ignored the weather,my wife and daugher enjoyed it apart from the weather,it really was cold and uncomfortable
im going to try and make the Aug BHW run accross the channel as long as i get a VHF fitted,failing that,the anglesey trip looks good
