I need your help. I have inherited a (approx) 1972 Mac 22 and have no manual or drawings, or a neighboring boat to use as a reference. Not sure of correct rigging, etc. My biggest problem is replacing the rudder/tiller that was torn off the boat when it had previously broke from it's mooring. Not sure if it is wood, fiberglass or some combo, but would like to construct one.
Any help would be gratly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Manual or Drawings for 1972 Mac 22

For starters, Do you have this PDF of the 22 sales brochure? If not download it and save it. It doesn't help with the rudder but shows you a bit about the original configuration anyway. Somewhere on the net there is the original instruction manual but I don't recall where.
If the boat needs a lot of work you should look into Brian Gilbert's Sailing Small. He restored a 222 then wrote a book about it.
And finally, I have one rotting in the back yard. I'm out of town at the moment but I'd be happy to take a few pictures of anything specific for you to compare to when I get back home this weekend.
Hope that helps.

Define good. All the wood on the inside needs to be replaced - other than that the hull just needs a good cleaning and some paint. I think all the hardware is still okay. I haven't decided what to do with her. I'll either fix her up and then sell her, sell her as is to somebody else, or maybe part her out (that's a big emotional leap I'm not willing to make yet though.)
