Before and after pictures as well as my Mac in its berth. It seems to work but I think its a little tight so I will loosen it a little. Boy when I thing that a little knot like that holds it all up I see God in all his splendor and I am humbled.

Looking at your pictures the PO must have had a home made raiser or the original factory one had longer stays as well as the brackets like Curries pictures but can't see why it won't work perfectly like you have it
I think the rope is over 2000lbs and the bowlines seem to be able to handle anything without letting go but would keep an eye open for chafing if you are raising and lowering a lot.

My short stays must be longer than yours also - and I believe I have a factory oringinal cira. 2006/7 model. They run from the welded D on the lifeline stanchion to the knot at the D on the mast and have very little slack initially and none as the mast comes up. I replaced the knot with a shackle and it chewed up the mast a little so I went back to the knot.
Bob ,
the boat came with the old winch mast raiser and the pole is quite a bit longer than the one on the new mast raiser.
Tangentair,
My stays are tight when I put them on and really tight when standing. I will lengthen the loop or add a shackle to have it set up as you describe.
