Any advice would be great.
Thanks

I thought the M-mast was vastly more substantial than the X-mast ... guess that's still profile-dependant. Maybe it's no great surprise that the mast would be less resistant when pulled sideways on its beam-side, without "reinforcement" of wind forces in a mainsail. Just assuming here that you were not sailing at the time??Richard O'Brien wrote: . . . My mast rotated 90 degrees and folded like a straw between two 10 year olds.
Well it is considered an advanced skill.......... We received our Mac this spring and have sailed many times. We were floating in 5 knots of wind against a 2 knot current on the Columbia River so I said - lets pullout the spinnaker!!!!!Frank C wrote:Vic,
Welcome aboard, congrats on your new Mac, and regrets that you haven't seen much response.
Perhaps it's because not a lot of owners are flying downwind sails.
Just guessing ... maybe only 1 of 6 owners has a downwind sail ???
