26X Owners Manual

Post by nail49 »

Does anyone know where I can buy/copy one? I found a link in the bowels of the archives, but it is outdated. Thanks...

Thanks, I meant to indicate I'm looking for a 1996 26X manual. I'm finding that there are some differences in the model years( location of ballast vent)...not sure how significant they are though.

I have this website http://www.macgregor-boats.com/ listed in my Favorites as having Macgregor manuals. It appears that the website has been hacked, however. You might check on it at a later date.

That was Bob White's MacGregor site he let the domain expire on awhile back. You can still find some of the brochures and manuals he hosted by using webarchive.org

Be patient, it takes a little bit to load on slower computers.

Let us know some of the things you're wondering about, maybe the issues have been addressed?

I own a 96x and love it! The glass layup seems very durable.

And yes the vent & valve are under the companionway ladder. Also the batteries are under the rear port seat right next to the galley. (easy to access)

I added some more things to the Manuals page. If there is something that I am missing or you have better copies of some of the manuals, please send them to me in PDF format.

Thanks,

Heath, thanks, great addition to the resources tab!

Loala, some of the things I didn't get fully (or perhaps accurately) briefed on by the previous owner or things I just forgot had to do with when to raise or lower the rudders, fill ballast or not when powering, rigging in general, etc. It's just really helpful to have a written reference, especially as a newbie to sailing. Thanks again to all who responded...
