That's a BEAUTIFUL wheel, Rainer. Where did you get it?

And also, where did you get the teak seating and floors for the cockpit?

The wheel You will find here: http://www.segelladen.de/Inhalt-untergr ... radzub.htm
No. E 4516703, the 50 cm diameter (176,90€ about 230,-US$). fits very well to the :macx: .
I doubt that they will ship to the USA however if anybody is interested I can get it for him and send it in a packet as a gift (for custom purpose  ) to him.
As far as the teak work is concerned I will reply later.

Thanks, Rainer! I may well take you up on that - I have to think about the price, though! I am very interested in your teak seating, too. Have you other pictures of your interior?

On our 2000-X, the throttle is mounted on the starboard side of the pedestal.
Will the control stick of the SPX5 unit get in the way of the throttle?
Can this control stick be mounted on either side of the unit?

Thanks

There is no controll stick on the new SPX 5 Sportpilot anymore. In the following You will find an extract from the SPX 5 Sport ooeration manual:

Your SPX-5 Sport system is controlled by a Raymarine ST6002 Pilot Controller
(supplied), and operates in the following modes:
• Standby: SmartPilot off. You have manual control of the boat.
• Auto: The SmartPilot steers the boat to maintain a locked heading.
• Track: The SmartPilot steers the boat to maintain a track between two waypoints
created on a navigation aid.
The SPX-5 Sport system also provides:
• Enhanced course keeping using AST (Advanced Steering Technology).
• AutoLearn, Raymarine’s self-learning calibration system.

..as requested here are some other pictures of my teak work

Image

The teak on the seats is custom made.
The floor and the cockpittable are made by me, both more or the less the same way.
Teak strips are mounted on frames. The frame for the floor was made from 16mm (3/4 inch) watertight playwood as it is used for the loadfloor of trailers. To allow the mounting the floor consists of four parts.

Image

The frame of the cockpittable was made of 6mm (1/4 inch) Acrylglass.

The internal lamps were changed to LEDs however now they are not as bright as the original ones, to be honest they are to dark :( but in my opinion they look better :) .
The last picture is showing what are my teak strips made from, a 45 years old kitchen was canibalized :) . By this time in Germany sometimes kitchens (the expensive ones) were made of solid teak. However it was a hard work as the teak had to be splitted horizontallyfirst to get right the thickness for further processing.

They have quite a few great closeout deals,

http://www.boatersland.com/closeouts.html

Including this DSC handheld I just ordered.

http://www.boatersland.com/hx600s-li.html

It's that time of year again, out with the old, in with the new. I wonder what will replace the S1 in the Raymarine line? I'm sure all the online stores have deals. This is the time of year I got a screaming deal on my chartplotter a few years back.

For those buying the Wheel Pilot you might also want to look for a deal on a larger wheel. Without one the stock Mac wheel leaves very little finger room when the Wheel pilot ring is installed. If I also recall correctly, you will need to be prepared to improvise on the motor mounting bracket as it is designed for a round pedestal surface, not a flat one.
