Well, with the Admiral's long distance approval, I have pulled the trigger. Bought a 2001 Mac 26X. Finally back in the Macgregor family. A tip o' the hat to Tim in Corvallis, OR for taking such good care of a great boat. More details later.
Thanks, guys. It has been a long time coming. But, either the stars aligned, or I just ran out of excuses.
The tow beast in the pic is an '02 Grand Cherokee Overland edition. 4.7 liter V-8 H.O., rated at 7,700 lbs towing. It's really been an amazing vehicle for the 5 years that I have owned it. I reset the trip computer before leaving Corvallis and after the 300 mile trip home to Hermiston, it averaged 17.5 mpg, at a steady 60 mph. In the background of the second pic, you can just see the rear of the big tow beast. '01 Silverado w/Duramax diesel and Allison tranny. It's the farm truck, used for heavy stuff and hauling the slide in camper.
Congrats on the "new" boat and with going with the X. I am leaning that way myself...now if I can just find one for the right price or rather the price I can afford at present
You Big Ham
Major League Congrats & Thank You Admiral.
I don't know whether to sing "Back in the Saddle Again" By Who ? [Someone old please help - Gene Autry?] or Steve Windwood's "Back in the High Life Again" - Whichever you know the words to
