Anyway, I might need a few more family trips to restart my creative juices for a good boat name. The sailing was great, but the pouting, whining, and yelling were not much fun (yes I was the one yelling).
Maybe I should name her:

As we purchase our boat last year, and 2008 was the 50th anniversary of the Peace sign and one of our favourite musicians wrote one of the best songs dealing with peace, we named our boat "Imagine" this name also means so much more to us, after all "Imagine" all the great places we can now sail!
We went thru the process of changing the name on our M from "Repose" ( meaning to lay back and do nothing as if in a pose, that is what the origional owners did 'never left dock' ) to "INSPIRATION a galixy class starship" (meaning inspired like we have been since we bought it 2 years ago and well over 200 days out sailing for the night ) I think a boat name should be descriptive of the users ( were treckies ) or something that is positive sounding and short to repeat over a VHF radio.
One of the more whimsical names I was playing around with is "YB2Normal", would make for an interesting radio handle, saying it aloud three times quick sounds a bit like a parrot call, more interesting would be a name that starts with the word "Blow" and finishes with any of a few other words of self identification, action or occupation. As a radio handle you would be in trouble for sure using any of them.
As I wait on my new stickers...my name came quite easily..my old pup, Peanut, took care of me for 17 years...I hope her namesake boat does the same.. my new to me SV Peanut

How about the "Texas Two-Step"?
Because just about everything is two steps from the companionway.
Use a Lone Star State graphic of your choice for the Texas part, that would look cool and very suitable.

I read a funny piece in 48 Degrees North, a Puget Sound sailing publication, on naming boats. The author was the owner of several previous boats, and had just bought a used sailboat. He and his wife were discussing renaming the boat, and having a hard time coming up with something suitable. He wanted something unique, but just couldn't think of a good boat name which was not likely to show up on another boat. Finally, in frustration and in a totally joking manner he said "Why don't we just call her "Dogbreath". To his great shock and surprise, his wife said "Yes, That's it! Dogbreath. We'll never see another boat with that name". No amount of backtracking could get him off the hook, and so "Dogbreath" it was. I guess the moral of the story is, be careful with flip comments.
When I bought my boat I had a long look, it looked like a Tub and could go fast.
Hot Tub is her name.

I'm a deviant here in Kemah, Tx in that...the Mac is considered a peice of junk. I've had my eye on 'em for about 15 years since I first owned a 21' Mirage cabin pocket cruiser back in the 90's. Despite what my classical sailing friends say...I love her.
Gosh I hope that is nothing like the Mexican two-step! Been there...done that...wasn't fun

No, thank heavens - the Texas Two-Step is not what you dance in front of the bathroom door.
I haven't traveled enough in Mexico to learn their version, but they have something similar in Peru - enough so, that they have their own national brand of Pepto-Bismol.
