No 26M on Strictly Sail Chicago show?

My hopefully faulty research seems to indicate that there will be nobody showing an 26M on the Strictly Sail Chicago show. Please somebody tell me that's wrong.

Don't know if there will be one at the Chicago show, but there was one at the Phila StrictlySail show.

Now, please don't take this as a slight to any of the folks here - I'm sure you love your boats and with good reason - but having had a good look at an M, I'm *very, very* happy with my .

Well, you know, I ain't that big a guy, but I couldn't see how I was gonna squeeze my sorry *ss in between the motor to get on and off of that blasted thing. Plus, there was so many structural interruptions in the interior that there's no real open place to sit and chat. On top of that, you can only fit - at best - 3 people around the dinette table... unless you're a family of little-people, of course. And that head.. well, I suppose I could just stand outside and aim... but getting inside to do anything important was out of the question.

It's not reasonable to expect someone who has shelled out considerable wampum for their boat, to also be self-effacing, self critical, or allow anything to be said about their wife, mother, dog, and especially their boat. One of the great things about Lotus was the development of the 7 and super 7. It allowed ordinary income guys with big dreams to compete with the big dogs. In the same fashion I think Macgregor's of any model allows people like me to realize daydream adventures. I think the X M owners may share an exploratory nature, more inclined to the adventures than organized racing. But give me two more seasons, and I'll race anybody, anytime, in any water, and that makes me a little more comfortable around the "Dinette". And that goes for your horse too!

and I agree with Richard as well. I retire (55) very soon and am collecting and paying for all the toys I want right now and I am almost done (Audrey says I am done )... The MacGregor fit the bill perfectly for us and US. . . . BTW is all that matter's to us Now I am 53+ 5'11" 200lbs and got up the ladder fine. Dinette. . . it's just US. The head , is there really a head on a 26 ' comparable to the one in my house ? Besides I tried it and low and behold with the taller unit . . . . .Its works for me and . . . . . .Audrey says . . . take out the light. . . use a match . . .NO reading in the Bathroom?? BUT I say. . .I am the Captain on this new boat !!! She smiled and said that was fine as she is an Admiral ... So tell is anything above. . . . an Admiral ???

I'm still searching for my first "Mac". I'm a pretty competetive guy. I was actually looking forward to getting a sailboat to relax a bit. After reading posts from all over this forum, I've learned a few things about sailors. (I've never even been on a sailboat).
I'm going to fit right in as I am a certifiable type "A" personality. All of you are not wine drinking east coast snobs (sorry, I'm from a red state), you all think your answer is better than the next guy, and you're not afraid to call it like you see it!
These arguments have absolutely convinced me that I want to own a sailboat, and the Mac is the answer as I can join the fun of arguing which is best... X or M.
By the way, I live out here in Sioux City, Iowa I've been searching all over the web for a Mac. I'm searching the ads on this site a few days ago, low and behold, I find an ad with a 2000 X for sale 4 miles from my house!!!!! I call the guy and it turns out he works at the same place I do!!
It's destiny, I'm going to own a sailboat. Then I can join the fray and argue with the rest of you. I can't wait. Please accept my apologies in advance as I love a spirited debate.

p.s. I saw the video for the new 2005M and thought it was awesome. A cross between an infomercial, B grade porno film, and Micheal Moore fictionalmentary. I can't wait to join the club.

I believe Superior Marine (219-879-5636) will have a MacGregor 26M at the Strictly Sail Show in Chicago.
I'm not sure what their price is, but I'm selling the 26M for $18,900, discounting Mac Options 20%.
I still have one left at the old price, that I'm selling for $17,900, white hull, with ladder installed, surge brakes on the trailer.

Thanks for the info Bill. There you have it guys, proof positive that the White hull is definitely slower than the Blue. Why else would the price be lower

Absolutely... it was in the middle isle, not too far from the entrance... kinda hidden though, as it was in a short isle not too far from the Jeanneau's and the Island Packets over in the corner... there wasn't any banner and I only saw it by accident on my way out... I'm pretty sure it was a dealer from NJ. But yes, I definitely even climbed on board, as did my wife and kids! When we got on board there was another older couple that had a Mac25 and they were comparing it to their own (as were we!).

(edit: Just checked my StrictlySail Show Directory and the exhibitor was "Long Island Yacht Sales" in booth 254. Their phone is 631-665-5144 and they were from Bay Shore, NY.)
