I was thinking of putting it in the cockpit, though, so we could be under the bimini... I still have some plans for it...will have a chance to work on it once I buy a boat!

Re: Hammock on Deck Mac 26x
That's funny...I was thinking of this idea as one of my first mods that I wanted to try out by myself...mostly because we have a portable hammock that we use while camping (and sometimes we set it up in the bedroom and turn on the "ocean waves" music and rock ourselves to a nap under the ceiling fan!)...

Will post pics of that (eventually) when I try it.

I use a hammock with a wood spreader bar on each end. If it's too long, as mine is, roll up the forward end around the spreader bar. Lash this to the top of the bow pulpit, just aft of the forestay. Tie a line to the aft spreader bar, around the port side of the mast, over the boom, aft to the starboard winch and use this to tighten the hammock.

Google Hennessey hammock. Dont use a string hammock. We tried both and the hennessey worked far better.

Scott, If that is the Hennessey hammock that came with the boat, it is OK if there is a breeze, a bit hot if without the breeze, we also have a King size Mexican string hammock, set up between some trees minimum of 30 ft apart on the beach or while out bush ... very comfortable, the big difference is you use a mexican hammock with your head and feet across the hammock not with your head and feet facing the rope ends.

And yes, thats it. I have slept in it a few times. A little flea dip should fix it right up.

That looks great K9Kamper. Sorry what did you use to attach to the pulpit so the hammock hung higher?
