We got a new main and genoa from Martin at Somerset Sails....

....last year and really like them.

Very well made. The genoa is for the furler and has a radial cut and the main is full batten and loose footed.

Give them a call and get a quote. Mention us to him and I know other mac owners have bought from them also.

Good luck,

Sum

I ordered a sail from KH in January from the online store. (for a 26C)
After waitintg and waiting for it to show up, I emailed them last week. No response from KHsail email address. then KH marine email bounced back undeliverable.
I called the main number and got an immediate pickup. I told them about no email response from one address and bounce back from the other. They took my order info, and called me back a few hours later. My sail was on back order and they expect to receive it end of Feb. They did ship the other part on my order after I called. Also, the person returning my call said no one would be in the office for a week, I think it is this week.
So yes, they are still in business. I wish they would have let me know a month ago my sail was on back order. Nothing worse than driving home every day hoping to see a big box on the front porch.

I purchased in Dec but did not receive the sails until February....but they told me up front the Genoa was on back order (which is fine because I am not doing much sailing on Lake Ontario these days). I found them to be very helpful but I was in no rush. Their price was great and the quality of the sails appears to be good (they gave a 10% discount for buying a quantity of 2 sails).
Good luck

Dirk at National Sail Supply (Rolly Tasker Florida) is terrific to work with. In my experience, his sails are top notch, reasonably priced, and delivery is timely. He does what he says he is going to do when he says he is going to do it, is very knowledgeable, answers questions, and gets right back to you with a quote. If those things are important to you, I recommend him highly.

Everyone:

I want to thank you for reading my post and responding. Based on your suggestions I have contacted National Sails and Somerset Sails. Somerset Sails has not yet responded to my email.

I now have two quotes to consider. Both are for essentially the same sail (full battens, two reefs, loose foot, draft stripes, etc). The price from the Sailstore (FX Sails) is $764 while from National Sails (Rolly Tasker Sails) is $930. The only difference is the sailcloth (5.53 oz vs 6 oz) and any quality of fabrication (unknown). I have found favorable postings in forums for both sailmakers.

My question now: Is the extra fabric weight and any quality differences in construction worth $170? Would appreciate your thoughts.

Try calling Martin at 800-323-9464. He usually answers. The last time I talked to him we talked almost an hour about motorcycles and that was after I thought they would be closed. He is into restoring bikes and I use to be a bike dealer. Just so it is clear I have no financial relationship with them, just a happy customer,

I've ordered my Genoa and Spinnaker from KH (suzannegregory (at) kellyhansonsails (dot) com). I've been very happy with their service. I am waiting to hear from them their Spinnaker Chute Scopes (which are on back order). Good Luck
