My boat was purchased new through Paul Bradshaw at Great Basin Sailboats, SLC Utah. No nonsence, no speels. He was excellent to do business with and we received not only a fantastic price but great service. I replace the steering on my own and once he found out, he had Macgregor re-imburse me. His number is 801-209-0293.

Last summer, someone was looking for a Mac dealer in the midwest (he bought a 26M from me). The first response was for a dealer on the west coast. So, I think it is appropriate for me to post here.
I am the only MacGregor dealer that pays to advertise on this site and posts with any regularity. I do not compensate anyone to advertise for me here, unlike at least one other dealer. I use my real name. I do not claim to be the largest selling Mac dealer, when I am not.
I do have the best prices on the 26M. I have the best deck hardware package, all stainless steel, not plastic. I have the best rig adjusting tool.

Somehow I doubt a southern California dealer is going to be the closest place to Vancouver BC for him to buy his boat.

In getting there he drives right past the 3 biggest dealers around, Bluewater Yachts in Seattle and Portland, Arena in the San Rafael, and H&S in Oxnard, Newport Beach and San Diego. Not to mention the smaller ones in Oregon, Idaho, N Cal and Utah which are all closer than Inmon. For that matter Alberta is closer and he hasn't even gotten a response from his local dealer Gerry Berg in Vancouver BC yet.

I know there is a used X (not Mine) at Bluewater right now and when I was last there there was a nice used M with full canvas there as well. I'll give Cheryl a call in the morning to see what the word is.

Getting paid for posting, I'll have to look into that with Todd. I've probably sent more customers to BWY from here over the last 4 years of posting than anyone. I should get a commission from Dowsar for enclosures as well.

Every Mac owner has his favorite Mac dealer (some non-owners too).

It is the lucky Mac owners whose favorite dealer is still that dealer from whom they bought their boat :!: The dealers most consistently complimented here, by their customers, would probably be (just by memory):
  • Bill's Boats 4 Sail (Mid-west, forum member, see memberlist)
Blue Water Yachts (BWY in Seattle)
    Arena Yachts (San Rafael)
If I was shopping for an M-boat, I'd check first for a lightly used model, like this 2004-M in San Francisco at $21,000, new 25hp Mercury. Add about a net $5,000 to upgrade it to a Suzuki 70.

Or this brand new 2005 from Bill at $18,900.

Also, see Heath's classified M-boat page for several others, one of them in WA state. There's no happier time than Springtime shopping for a boat! 8)

Duane is right, BWY has obviously done a great job of sale and that is why there delivery is June. The local dealer is having a hard time getting a delivery date from the factory. Thus my frustration. I could get one from the Alberta dealer but I have one question. What about warrantee work? I do not want to drive 10 hrs each way to Alberta for work on the boat. The engine would not be a problem and I have had a 26X thus am capable of most service work. Just factory fiberglass flaws or such.
