Yeah, already in the Army. I've had my fair share of dumping with lots of soldiers around...my wife? Not so much.raycarlson wrote:i reccomend an enlistment in the army or navy for two or three years. after sitting knee to knee in the latrine every day with seven other guys all taking a dump and farting you lose any need you may have had for any type of privacy. dumping will become a cherished social event and you will appreciate the good company.
Privacy curtain for the head

I'm kind of liking that ideaDivecoz wrote: Change the swing on the present door to swing out across that "path" and block off the Main Cabin ..
Re: Privacy curtain for the head
Yeap, hadn't thought of that. Simple. I'll probably just do that.Y.B.Normal wrote:I modified the head door by shimming the hinges about 1/2". The door now swings out against the quarter berth and still has enough room to close in the normal manner.
Re: Privacy curtain for the head
I was looking at that and would like to do it. However, I'm uncomfortable drilling anything into the boat without knowing what I'm doing. Also, do you have to pick out material, cut it to size, and then sew it those little grommets? It looks beautiful, I just don't know if I want to spend that much time doing it.parrothead wrote:josonio,

Yes -- material selection, measuring, cutting & sewing are all essential steps in this approach.

Knee deep in crap. Get rid of the door and loose 25 lbs of boat weight, than get a curtain.

Re: Privacy curtain for the head
The admiral and I were just discussing this last weekend when we were in the cabin "working on the boat"...(we were finding the best arrangement for the peaches).
For the short term, we're talking about the springy curtain rod with a cheap curtain (the kind you thread the rod through)...as this would only be used when "others" are aboard, seeing as we needn't the privacy when it's just the two of us...
But I'm also really liking the reverse-hinge idea to make the door swing the other way!!
Has anyone with their centerboard-raising cable routed to the top tried this? Interference with that is the only thing I'm thinking would be a drawback.
And just for kicks...has anyone found that a latch of some kind was included on the INSIDE of the head door for you to hold the door shut from the inside???
What do you do about that?

Ditto what Dave said. I have not done it yet but plan to. I am tired of having my knees in my face.
