The wiring for the anchor light (top of mast) is severed at base of mast -- less than a 1/4 in or protrudes out. Anyone have an easy way to either reconnect the wiring or rewiring going up thru the center of mast?
I've taken the mast down and tried fishing new wire thru it but not much success as I don't have anything long enough to fish it thru.
Can't you solder a pull-wire to both ends and pull it through from the other side?
Then attach a new cable to the pull-wire and pull the new cable back in position.
Second Obelix. But make sure you have a joint that won't break. Try bending each wire into a 1" hook, then taping both down with electrical tape. It's what we did in commercial wiring years back.
I might:
Solder new wire to existing and secure with heat-shrink,
Then force wire and splices back inside mast,
From the base of the mast (after removing the base plate), hook the wire and pull down in order to put a knot in the new wire to keep from pulling thru the wall of the mast
Pull the new wire thru the hole in the mast until the knot is in contact inside and reinstall the connector.
Not exactly sure this will work since I have not gone out to the boat but it is my initial thought.
If you think it's going to begin to pull through but are not sure whether your join will catch and separate because of the extra weight and friction of the newer wire, start small and pull through a strong fishing line first. Once you've done that draw your replacement. If everything looks like it will pass ok consider adding a second with it for future capability.

You Have the mast down? Tie a piece of good quality string to the old wire.. ( something you cannot break with your hands) Loop it over itself and then follow with a dozen?? half hitches and tape over that , and pull away.. pull it back with the string bring home your new 4 conductor wire....now you have lots of options for future mods hahaha! .. You "might" as well , add a string and leave it in there.. tied off at both ends for any future work inside the mast?
