Just curious - any of you Florida guys know of a decent sail loft in the Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater area?
Alternatives could be along the west coast of Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area, Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area, etc.
After all of the discussions about the bolt rope, I think I want to have someone put a new one in "right" the first time. I may get to the point I'm willing to try it, but not having done such a thing before, I'd like my first experience on the water to be with a sail that's been fixed "right"...not by me!
Thanks!
I dont remember when or where but I had picked this up on my stay in Charlotte Harbor Area.. http://knightonsailmakers.com/
Knowing me I was shooting the breeze with someone ... maybe while having a few beers , down at Bert's in Matlacha?

I'm not a FL guy yet but if your still looking for a sail shop check out JSI 2233 3rd Ave. S. St. Petersburg, FL 33712. Ask for Josh Willus (727) 471-2040, tell him Tony the Pilot from Baltimore sent you. I was down there on a layover a few weeks ago and used a hotel bicycle to ride over to the store and picked up some sail tape. I will be in St. Pete around noon on the on the 19th hanging around the pier looking to go sailing if someone needs a hand.

...line, arrows, with thimbles on the end for us. We used it to lock up ...
...the dinghy, the outboard and items in the dinghy when we left it someplace, like above at Marathon. Their pricing was fair and they did good work. If we need any rigging done on the Endeavour we would use them. Nice staff. We called ahead and they had it ready for us to pick up as we went through on the way to Englewood south of there.

I'll second that. the New JSI Sails bunch seem to have their act together. I purchased new standing rigging for my 14footer and they gave me a tour of the whole place.
Sum,
Like your pix of the Keys Fisheries. The Admiral and I took a our US Sailing courses from Capt Bruce out of that marina in 2009. What a great time. I recognize our Catalina 30 school boat in the background.

Yep, good food at reasonable prices and it was the only place we could find to go ashore on the Gulf side where we could leave the dinghy for a while. We also took containers there and got gas at their commercial fisheries location around the sea wall. It is kind of a coincidence but I'm finally working on the spring trip to Florida right now and just finished the page on Keys Fisheries.
Here is another sneak preview ....
...of some guys we saw there and then later again on the trip. I've heard of others also getting instructions there and I think he was still there when we were,
