I have leaves or something of the sort that has decayed on the white topsides (painted gelcoat?). There are little rust-like spots (not rust, just looks similar). Same thing happened to my kayak from FL's freshwater lakes/rivers. What can I safely use to remove these stains? The biodegradable marine soap and elbow grease that I use are not working. Thanks!
I cleaned all stains on my boat with FSR (blue gell available in almost all marine stores). Brush and rinse. I purchased 1 galon, clened my complete boat twice and I have some left for more than one cleaning. It is sort of expensive but works realy good.

I had the same problem. Maple leaf stains were especially troublesome. I tried a number of things. I saw a post on another site that recommended "Clorox Cleanup" spray. It did the trick.
Question: how to remove gasoline stain (yellow) that has set on the exterior white fiberglass for several months. My first attempts with mild detergents were unsuccessful. The origin of the stain was the fuel tank venting out the exterior vent because the tank was winterized completely full, not allowing for the warmer spring weather which resulted in the expansion of the fuel and the inevitable spillage.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Jeff.
