Spring motor startup

Post by Catigale »

The sweet sound of the MERC 50 HP BF permeated my neighborhood this morning

Just to get my digs in at the 2 smokers, its goes

BEEP VRRRMMMM when you push the Start button after last running in November 2004. I didnt even stabilise fuel....

The one gotcha is I had trouble getting the hose water to flow through the engine, when I popped the cover I found I had turned the water hose to the pee hole around and it was all kinked up.

Straightened it out and all was well. Pushing the pee hole through the rubber grommet was hard, until I figured out the trick - attached a hose attachement to the threads and use it to pull the pee hole through from the rear.

Glad to hear it went so well with the Suzuki 4 Stroke. I'll be starting mine soon. Ah the sounds of outboards in the Spring. Nothing like starting a 2 stroke for the first time. Blah, blah, blah...varoom and a blue cloud permeates the block. Sure makes a racket without that exhaust underwater.

I believe federal levels mandated for model-year 2006 outboards will eliminate new sales of polluting 2 strokes.

About time.
