Another minor repair, I glassed in to the hull a nice brace to hold up new 1x, can see it from this photo though.
Just waiting on a good weather weekend to start the first coat.

Me and Michael working at it...
Any suggestions on a good interior paint. Because the fiber-glass is mostly a rough finish, I was thinking a good primer coat. Any thoughts would be great.

If you are still researching paint, I just did the interior of my V21 with Rustoleum Topside. The V berth paint was flaking and required used of their primer (after sanding, of course). It is pretty thick and fills in imperfections and levels out well. I did not have to prime the rest of the interior. I used both the white and sand beige (which is more subdued than either the chips you can see online or the label on the can). I used a small trim roller with a smooth cover. The paint did not require any "tipping" and flowed into a very smooth coat which shows no roller marks. The paint costs considerably less than Interlux (about $15 a quart). I'm not sure about how it will hold up over time but I have used a variety of Rustoleum products on cars including racers and have never been disappointed.
Sailing Virginia: Putting the battery and other heavy stuff forward or as close to the keel and low is the right idea. When you put 3-4 people in the cockpit and have all the weight from assorted stuff in the stern as well on a 22 foot boat the performance will decrease. When I race I even move the outboard inside in the floor next to the keel. Keep up the good work and send more pics. Fair Winds and Full Sails....Old Salt
Thanks Freedon77, here are some photos of work completed today. A before and after shot. It really took a lot of work to get to today. First coat of primer on 1/2 of interior.

Next weekend with finish priming the rest of the boat.
Looks Great!! I should have brought this up before. We bought Freedom pretty much bare boat and did all the upgrades. I started a ships log and everytime I did work I would enter it with the date and what we did. 35 years later I can look back and wonder where I got all the time and MONEY. On the day of the Christening, Jan 1, 1977, we had a dockside party and had everyone, about 50, sign the log book and my beloved Penny broke the champagne over the bow. Keep us posted and send more pics. Do you have any idea when she'll go in the water?? Good Luck. Fair Winds and Full Sails....Old Salt.
