Week in the Keys and it was a blast!
New Mods to note: Double Bimini, Anchor Locker chain entry to allow hatch to close on line and keep deck clear and Mantus Anchor held great in the sand.

I understand the double bimini - I spent last week in the keys and "enjoyed
" the constant rain.

Re: Florida Keys Trip
We are headed that a way !
At the moment we are stuck at Caladesi State Park Island , waiting on the 20+ mph winds to subside .
We plan to take the Okeechobee route and down the Atlantic side to the keys .

Have fun!
BTW...Watch out for the tidal current changes. I was surprised how strong they were near inlets/outlets.

Re: Florida Keys Trip
My wife and I are planning a trip this winter starting about Feb 15 for 6 weeks or so. We will trailer the boat down from Idaho to just past Key Largo and explore areas for 5 days or so then move farther out and repeat. Probably hit a motel for a night, shower, wash clothes and shop. Has anyone done a trip like this (not necessarily from Idaho)? Anyone going to be there this winter? Love to chat with you.

Re: Florida Keys Trip
Launching at S.Dade Marina for $10 a day for launch and storage for truck and trailer.
Gives you great cruising area in cristal clear waters.
Sands Key just outside of Dades marina has a great location for anchor and have a fire. Elliot Key has a Marina $10 a night but no hookups.
Many places to explore.
If you want a Marina, than Pennycamp is the place to go, last time cost me $30 a day with 115 amp hookup for AC in hatchway .
Reefs off Pennicamp are the best. Been there and launched my X several times and other boats.
Ck other archives in this forum, many have great info.
