I logged in just now to ask you that very question, being that he or the admiral took that twin spinnaker shot I used in the spinnaker thread that's running now. He hasn't posted since late last year. I hope all is well with them.

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous
Yep gotta get my boat ship shape , spent two days running around trying to find what I need to finish off my existing mods so was not a happy camper, my phones & internet went down again fri wasted alot of time with Bell trying to fix that Sat afternoon & then the bell guy was here all day Sun & eventually found the problem , so this was a wasted wk-end basically for trying to get crap done on the boat ,also had to remove a thirty foot tree root that was trying to get under my swimming pool lucky for me it went around it so that saved me alot of work but now have to clean up that mess ,LOL Rocky showed up to check out my newest Mods so we took time to shoot the breeze & have a beer so at least something went well Sat morn
Oh yeh rocky I have not had time to look for that ss piano hinge for u if I get a chance I'll have a look Tues morn or this wk-end

No worries john I actually had a brass one and used that. Yeah seeing what you've done had me working on my boat saturday when I got back home. I'm hoping to be out on the water again next weekend.

Not looking good this year.... The ice storm of 2013 hit us with both barrels.Tomfoolery wrote:I logged in just now to ask you that very question, being that he or the admiral took that twin spinnaker shot I used in the spinnaker thread that's running now. Just bought a new mast extrusion from Dowsar today for $900. It's gonna take some time to get our act together, and given the state of our car, Simcoe's going to be too big a haul to pull off this year.

Wow, that stinks. I hope you get her back up and running soon.
But at least you and yours are alright. I get nervous when folks drop off the face of the planet.

Wow that's bad luck Ross. It was quite the winter this year. I'm sure you have quite a bit of work ahead of you. Well if you can't make it to MMOR I'm sure we can meet up again in Port Credit later in the summer.

Ouch
Good to hear from you Ross
Do you still have the same cell num?
Tried to reach you via text...
Glad you were able to get a mast from Dowsar, he is handy yo your locale
Just an fyi.... I found out that Uhaul will rent you a pickup for less than 20/day and can tow up to 6500lbs.
Comes with all you need to tow
Hope you can make it, but totally understand if you cant
Any luck with the house sale?

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous
Hi all!
Yes, we have gone to ground over the last bunch of months. Last years Real Estate agent blew the one offer she produced by not informing the municipality of their permit distance error when they hoped to build a new structure in the previous location of the massive barn we were force to take down (also storm damaged). This years new listing (with another company) seems to be producing much better action - so the game begins anew. We've recently been up to our favourite Washago/Black river area to examine some potential properties but will refrain until this one's in the bank. Who knows - maybe we'll sail down from Couchiching to meet up if things work out in time. Property sale means new vehicle too.
Our youngest daughter picked us up in TO international on Dec 28th, after six weeks in Thailand (where the oldest lives) and Myanmar, and on the way home asked us if we wanted to hear the good news or the bad news first. The good was only partial basement flooding because of a nine hour power outage, the bad was the ice storm/mast damage which would have not occurred if the trailer has been parked six inches further forward. The Thai's have a saying for it 'Mai pen rai', which is like John saying sh*# happens - so true. To add insult to injury our water supply pipe burst halfway from the well (600' from house) and we flushed with snow water for just over two months until it thawed enough for digging. Things can only get better.
It'll be about a month before I can pick the mast up and I'm not clear about it being pre-drilled. I'd gladly lay on some Scotch for you John but it's a little uncertain, at this time, how things are going to pan out. Could make a good modding post!
Perhaps crewing for a day/night would be a thing?
