Any Mac owners going? We can meet up.
I'm thinking of going on Saturday with our Neenah-Nodaway Yacht Club members.
We celebrated our 150th Anniversary this year, making us one of the oldest yacht clubs in the country.

I'm going. Prefer the weekday show - Chicago weekend traffic can be a zoo.

I'll be there - but I have a scout meeting at 11 am Sat. So it will be after that.

Ok, the combination of sailboats, powerboats, RV's etc. is HUGE...perhaps too huge...otoh, it does make for lots to do. Could be me, but I felt that there were less hardware vendors this year. Food prices are high (they always are). A Chicago dog was $5.95.
The sailboats are over by the south wall (turn right when you get past the ticket guys), near the concession stands and the kiddie stuff - some of it quite cool, like Pirate Gypsie Rose playground. If there was a similar kids section around the power boats or RV's, I didn't see it, but then I wasn't lookin'.
It was a brief visit (I'll be back with the kids Sat) so I focused on the Seaward exhibit.

. A "bare bones" 32RK is $149,000. The average 32RK with options sells for $189,000. That's a bit more than I have in my hip pocket today.
If you do go (and kids under 15 are free), use Promo Code BEMARINE and save $3 on a days ticket. http://www.chicagoboatshow.com/attendees/admission.aspx

I plan on being there Friday. I prefer the weekday times, less crowded. Anyone going then?

Thanks for the code Dave.
I had a postcard with a $4.00 coupon, but I would've had to wait in line.
Now I have my ticket AND get a subscription to BOATING magazine
See you at the show on Saturday.

Even on Thursday am, there was a long line of people waiting to buy tickets. Having one already printed out really speeded things up.
I'll be the one being run ragged by a little boy and girl.

Re: Strictly Sail Chicago Jan 14-18 2015
Did anyone get any pics of the Seaward 26?
Very interested in details like lockers, under cockpit storage, etc. Storage compartents in the cabin, and what is under the galley.
How high is the standing headroom?
Thanks!

Re: Strictly Sail Chicago Jan 14-18 2015
Ok, below is a link to some Seaward 26RK pictures
The designer basically put storage (not very big) in every seat, etc. A friends son (8) made the observation that it "looks like your boat, but not as big inside". The V-berth, the rear berth (on one side only), all small than an
.
The table is very smalll and designed so you can pass it on either side. Some gymnastics may be required.
The potty is going to go REALLY cramped for anyone over 5 ' 10".
I like the rudder length, otoh, when it's heeling, a lot of that rudder is not going to be in contact with the water.

Thank you very much!
In the pic, the rudder looks very long. Don't quite understand you comment about it when heeling. The angle of heel may be a lot less than on a Mac - I've read 15 degrees is normal.
Did you see how deep the lockers were under the cockpit seats? I was curious if the one on the starboard side was really deep - perhaps accessing all that area aft of the head and engine area.

They were the depth of the seat - fairly shallow.
