Does anyone use a forestay along with their roller furler to fly both jib and genoa at the same time?

Yup, Double large headsails wing & wing with a whisker pole is great going dead downwind when the winds are nil. You can still sail when everyone is motoring. You can do that with just a spinnaker and genoa too. Most of the time though the choice of a jib or genoa while on the water without changing the sail on the furler is the main advantage.

A temporary (solent) stay works for flying extra headsails so you don't have to change out the furler sail. Low stretch line works for our small boats, it does not have to be a wire stay. You can also seize a wire to the headsail if you prefer so the sail is freeflying and quick to setup.
