My old sails are well beyond the "Best by Date" They are the original 1996 sails. I have read some great reviews on this site about the "Hyde sails" and I am looking for some imput on the sails Blue water yatchs sells.
I am also looking for some advice on what others have found is the best bang for the buck when it comes to buying new sails. Most of my sailing is done in moderate coditions, (less than 2ft waves and less than 20kts of wind.

Re: Advice on buying new sails
Most (all really) of my sailing is done in less than 20 kts and 2-3 foot waves, unless I find myself on a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour... by mistake.
I use Judy B's sails (with a pirate on the Genoa - kids love it and it makes it easy to spot).
Also, wherever you buy your sails, think about a number, fairly unique, for the main.
A company called Boatpix often flies overhead and takes pictures. If you contact them with day of sail and your sail number, they will offer to sell you a really nice pic of your boat - if they have it/can find it.

Re: Advice on buying new sails
I bought fxSails brand sails online through The Sail Store and was very pleased with them. Price was comparable to the Hyde brand and I can no longer remember why I chose one over the other.
Re: Advice on buying new sails
BWY said they have a new custom Square Top Main sail designed for the Macgregor made of 5.5 oz. Dacron...(I am wondering if it is the same one which shipped with the Tatoo 26??)
Anyway, I have ordered it to replace my standard mac sail. It should arrive this week and I can give you my thoughts after a few test sails.
