Mast light Bulb
My mast light quit working, I removed the bulb with intentions of replacing it, but have lost the bulb.
Does anyone have the correct bulb number for replacement. (2000 26X)
Thanks,
Tim

Are you talking about the steaming light..forward facing fixture?
Don't know about the X, but the M uses a 42mm festoon bulb.

Here's a recent thread on that, including LED replacements. I have pics of mine on the second page, for reference. http://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/v ... ad#p300252

The mast light in an
needs a barrel end festoon bulb, such as this one: http://marineledshop.com/navigation-bul ... el-festoon
I put one in last winter and it's exceptionally bright.

My guess is the cone shaped ends would work, however if it must be barrel ends, how about this one.

AFAIK, this is the original masthead (steaming) light, as found on my
.

Looks like the bulbs ends are flat, with a small dimple in the ends.

Re: Mast light Bulb
If you want to replace with LED, replacement bulbs are available which come with multiple terminal caps, including pointed and flat caps.

Re: Mast light Bulb
Tom, that looks like an old style festoon bulb. It pinches in from the ends, so I do believe the cone end style would still work. I manually bent the ends of my connectors to add more spring tension to hold it in tighter. Looks much like the M steaming light if you ask me.Tomfoolery wrote:AFAIK, this is the original masthead (steaming) light, as found on my.

Also should be noted that LEDs are polarity sensitive. Festoons are easy to reverse polarity by inverting it if not lighting up.

I finally got around to ordering an LED from this company. I installed it and it is quite bright too. Maybe now I will actually use this light once in awhile.
