Have been monitoring this site for approxamatly 2 years with a great deal of interest and on occasions entertainment.
Watched the M series evolve and all the debate/emotion that followed as to the merits, or lack off when compared to the X.
From the outside looking in, you all seemed a pasionate bunch defending the Mac philosphy against all comers, especialy the purists!!
Well you now have a convert.
I have just ordered a M (with the faster blue hull option) and is due to arrive in Australia in August, in the middle of our winter unfortunatly. Have enjoyed the whole purchasing experience and look forward to the splashing the hull in ocean.

A blue hull is faster in the northern hemisphere but, because of the Coriolis Effect, the white hull is faster in the southern hemisphere.
Coriolis probably does a better job of explaining this than I can in Sur les equations du mouvement relatif des systemes de corps, his most important work, so you might want to read that, or at least look at the pictures.
Newton's first law also has to be considered, as well as the proximity to the east pole or the west pole.
And, of course, Pasquale's Principle and Assistant Principle cannot be disregarded.
Also too, in the northern hemisphere, we go up north, while in the southern hemisphere you go up south.
This also explains, obviously, why there are kangaroos only in the southern hemisphere.
You entirely forgot Bernoulli's Law and Archimedes' Principle of Boyancy, not to mention Bell's Inequality Principle. Everyone knows that as you get to the bottom of the Earth things get heavier... as a result, the water becomes more viscous and relative time slows down as well. This all leads to blue hulls having a great disadvantage, since the light waves reflecting off the hull's blue color are of a longer and therefore of a much slower wavelength.
Tisk, tisk. Amateurs.

Ignore the "blue with envy" whities. Not only is the blue hull faster than the white hull in all regions of the world, in a recent survey of the world's hottest swimsuit models, it has been determined with great certainty that beautiful women find owners of the blue hull 26M more masculine, sexy and appealing than owners of any other colored boat.

Also too, I did not forget Bernoulli's Law, in passing, in my reference to kangaroos. I suppose I could also have mentioned wildebeasts, but some folks call them gnuu's, and I didn't want to confuse anyone.
I saw no reason to talk down to Hurley merely because he is down (under).

I got my M last August as well. You'll have a great time in the year ahead getting to know and drill holes in your new baby. This board is really good to bounce ideas around - I've learned plenty here.

Winter has finally arived down here today, so it's sea boots and thermals for the next few months! I'm planning the long drive to take part in this year's 'Great Adventure North' in the Whitsundays this Sept. so might catch up some time.
