stern rail seats for 26X

I have a friend that is giving me a set of stern rail seats that he cannot use on his due to enclosure. I have a few questions about these seats:

(1) are they difficult to install?
(2) are they worthwhile to install ?
(3) what do you perceive as the benefits and the drawbacks of installing them ?

i do not know yet who made them - i won't have them until the sailboat show next month in annapolis when i see my friend. I assume they are the from DOWSAR marine.

Bought the boat with them - I think the PO got them on the boat when he bought it. Don't know how big of a job to install, but you will enjoy them.

Are they available in an aerosol spray? Or are there different flavors?

Not in aerosol, brush or roll only. Only tasted them in heavy weather. Tasted like stainless, plastic, and butt. Not particularly appetizing.

My boat came with em. I call em party seats.

They are not as fun or as useful as I would have thought.

They're not very comfortable, in my experience. I've been thinking of ways to make them more comfortable, but the real problem is that the seat is so short. You gotta sit ramrod straight on em.

But they make a good headrest when slouching at the helm and steering with one's feet.
