Sailing from Toronto to New York
I'm planning to sail from Toronto to New York this summer. I would really appreciate if someone can give me any feedback, suggestions or comments about stopovers, mooring, locks, US custom paperwork, fueling, docking, shopping, dining etc. Thank you!

Got any specifics? Where in New York? NYC? Or just the north coast of the State? Erie Canal to the Hudson? St. Lawrence Seaway to the ocean?
Re: Sailing from Toronto to New York
Avoid going out the gulf of St Law unless u like being in subarctic conditions. Was there 2 summers ago. 6 layers of clothing in early July. Never mind the 8 knot currents and huge tides. We had quite a few close calls. U need to know what u r doing on that body of water.

Why

Drive down like a gentleman & you can put in any where from Maine to Montauk; Oceanside to Bay side.
You got a lot of great spots in between...

Why do the Great Loop, when you can drive to all of those states, and see more of them?
If you have the time, have the boat, and the inclination to use it in the way it was designed for, go for it. Live life. You don’t get many second chances to do so.

Interesting that the OP joined almost two years ago, and this is his/her first, and so far last, thread and post.
