Has Anyone ever heard of

Post by Divecoz »

Has anyone ever heard of a Early Mac / Venture being shipped from the factory with bottom paint? There is a fellow on one of the Face Book Pages making this claim and claiming "his friend" who was a Mac Dealer confirming this ? Sounds suspect to me because even before a DIY guy who bottom paints / anti-fouls, he would know to barrier coat AFTER sanding the entire bottom..

If you watch the original 26 s video, one has a white bottom, one has black.
Always pondered if it was anti fouling from the factory.

None of the 26X or M boats came from the factory with bottom paint. The factory would ship to the dealers and then the dealer could offer this and have it put on the boat once they received it. We did offer this option. The early 26 Classic boats and Venture / MacGregor early boats did offer bottom paint. When we started selling boats in 1988 bottom paint was an option, that was only for the first couple of years. Cheryl

Hello to all.... No I am still around, not dead yet :D but much farther south of where we once lived.. I experienced some health/medical issues for a few years about a month or two, after we retired to SW Florida. Slowly coming back.. Wind Wine and Song ( 26 :macm: ) has yet to hit the water since we moved here... I have started and stopped and started again and it looks like this time if I am careful and I dont get crazy, I will see her recommissioned thru to the end and into the water next to my seawall.. That would be nice.... :) I hope to be sailing again soon

Hey DiveCoz :)

So glad to hear from you Brother! There's not too many of the Good ol' dogs remaining here! Nevertheless, many new ones have come & have kept The MAC JuJu Flowing; There are still some, aside from those who've become Mods, & are as well, icons; But many are gone who raised & inspired me- Such as you... [We few, we happy few; We band of brothers

-Howsonever, My intention is to slight No One. Those who have stayed the course, & or, contribute, whether they've moved on boatwise & consult occasionally or lurk; My aim is True... & Feel Free to " Sound Off" that you're here; Say... 10 year veterans or so :)

Anyway, I Hope you're still managing to enjoy South Florida. I was looking at Port Charlotte in 2014 :| That dream is currently on the back burner... Remember, The Cruising's only as good as The Good Ship & Crew -Take it at Your Mark. It'll be there when you're ready...

Keep Livin Da Dream 8) !!

Good to see most of you guys are still alive. and in good health i hope.

Still boatless since I sold my 26x about 6 years ago.

Just checking in for any news about the T-22.. (nothing)

In case anyone is interested I got a video from Rich Borden (Rich & lori) aboard his yacht Third Day.
A collection of Religious Christmas carols, pictures and video aboud Third Day, Family and Rch.

I was asking $35,000 bcause someday it might be worth $130,000. When/if Rich becomes POTUSA.
But I will take the BO over .50 cent with free shipping to anywhere on the planet.

I also got a mast form my 1988 Mac-26. Slightly bent when a tree fell on it. i think its 30`

Free, come and get it if your anywhere near Western Pennsylvania.

NO.

I owned a 1988 26` mac. Positive it didnt come with the factory bottom paint
White gel coat which i kept slick with Boat-US premium-wax.
About 1995 I repainted everything below the deck. What is a Barrior coat.??

My 26-C was the fastest boat on a small lake here in PA. Always came in 1st place among amateur cruisers/daysailors.
Bumper sticker on the transom said, :D (if you can read his your are in 2nd place). :o

Repalced it with a 1997 26X. Usually came in last place.
Bumper sticker on transom said. :D (If you can read this, you`re propblaby in last place) :o
