I keep seeing the reports on your heat wave and wondering how our down under mates are doing?
Australia is a big continent; is the heat wave affecting all parts?

We have been experiencing extreme heat conditions in S E Queensland. Temps of 37-38 have been regularly recorded in the coastal regions with smoke haze being the most debilitating issue for the elderly.
Visibility has been down to 3 nautical miles despite winds of up to 25 kts but it's raining lightly now which should clear the atmosphere and dampen the vegetation. Hopefully our firefighters will have a break.
We expect the rain to continue until Boxing Day and clear on Friday for a five day cruise and get-together of 2 X's and one M at nearby Kooringal, Morton Island.
With compliments of the season,
Warfin.

By a freak of the wind that couldn't get far enough south it was 44 degrees C 50km north of here and a nice 26C here thanks to an easterly wind - that was nice...... But it will soon be scorching hot even this far south soon .......
