One book that really reinforced me into this Safety Habit

"Suddenly Overboard" by Tom Lochhaas (2013) - 181 pages of short stories of people who died sailing

ebook 0-07-180332-7

Factoid from the book - 50% of sailing fatalities occur while NOT under sail - anchoring, docking, etc.

I also read somewhere that a large number of boating drowning fatalities are found with their fly open.

While stuck at home, another good book is Adrift, by Steven Callahan. An interesting tale of the inadequacies of "life rafts" which led him on a quest to improve them.

I know that this is a serious topic; and I am an adherent to no one on Nice Aft who refuses to wear a PFD (I also do not allow any alcohol on the boat), but when I saw this, I had to laugh, sorry Russ. :D
