Yes I do somewhere ! I did get all the info pic,s & measurements from the original modder who made & posted the original Mod I also printed off all the pic,s he personally e/m me , but can no longer find at this moment lol , but I should still have them in one of my laptops or in my external hardrive , just need the time to seach for them :( , the original poster gave me a list pretty much of all I would need for this mod , altho I did figure out a few changes I would make to improve it but would ultimately need to b tested out as usual , I,ll see if I have time tonight to search for them !
I have a two person inflatable that only weighs in around #22 & a 10ft walkerbay

This mod looks much like the Dinghy Tow commercial product from Davron Marine Products
http://dinghy-tow.com/

Unfortunately, Davron do not make a product that will fit a Macgregor

That,s correct Brian ,
He the original modder did just that I believe it was R Rae on his 26X
any ways here,s the pic,s I,ve found so far & measurements

Alum Lifting poles are 1 3/8" ID X 54" long , but may have to b longer or shorter depending on the size of ur dinghy & the size of ur main O/B engine make sure the pole wall thickness is thick enough to support ur body weight while stepping on it while getting in /out of the dinghy
The anti-sway bar is stainless steel 1/4" X 1" X 36" long

Like I said these measurements may have to vary depending on ur main O/B size & leg length & boat model but now u have something to work on
I,ll dig out the S/S stern & transom brkt,s I purchased yrs ago used from a Marine flea mrkt :) to compliment this mod & post pic,s of them

Here,s a pic of the the used S/S pad eye brkt,s & the new S/S davit brkt,s I bought dirt cheap at a marine flea mrkt

Image

I have two of each brkt for a total of 6 = 3 sets
but will need some other pulley hardware to complete the set up which I likely have already

Hi John (Highlander)

Thanks for the information!

By chance do you have picture of how it is mounted on the back of the MacGregor?

Thanks

Hi Brian & boat
here u r

I,d add additional backing plates out of starboard on the face outside & inside I,d likely go at least double the size of the base of which ever u use padeye,s or U bolts or what ever to support both transoms
I,d also go with bigger "stronger" eye bolts likely 7/16" on the Alum lifting poles

nice work - since we only use a little two man blow up kayak i think i could get away with something a little smaller the idea is to go the same way as highlander. we had friends from arizona with a x boat and they had the regular davit that hoisted the raft out of the water off the transom but they told us it really slowed the boat down going up wind so they switched to towing the raft.

do the lines supporting the aluminum bars get tied off at the cleat or is there a pully?

do you have a picture of the pully?

I’ve used my swim ladder off the port transom as a solid tow bar for several seasons now
