So first post. I'm looking at a 1999 26x with 2 year old sails, rigging replaced 5 years ago, and a very low hour 50 hp Suzuki. I'm pretty much sold on the boat. My bay is large and has an average depth of 3'. There's nothing offshore aside from fishing so I'd only consider that on good days. Basically thisll be an RV on the water for me and my family for weekend trips.
The main concern I have is the trailer on this thing is completely shot. It's not even usable at this point and I'm concerned about it making it to the ramp down the street but I think that's doable. What are my options for getting a new trailer? Space where it's located is limited so I couldn't build another trailer there and to my knowledge it wouldn't make it's way to my home ~45 minutes away. Has anyone else been in this situation and has some advice for me?

Gbyrd,
Welcome to the forum!
Putting your location in your info helps folks give you better responses. You can get a new trailer from many sources. Here is one: https://supersail.com/macgregor-replace ... 6-classic/
Depending on your location, there may be a trailer builder nearby that can fix you up - possibly cheaper.

Re: Trailer help
You will spend about 4k plus 1l delivery for a proper boat trailer for a Mac - you can build one form steel for about 1/2 that.
For a twice a year inland fresh water boating solution- this might sound crazy, but..
a landscape utility trailer like this one
https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/produ ... b-capacity
sells for $2200
Half that used - and very easy to find where I live, at least.
Could some bunks or bed be fabbed from lumber to roll a boat to a lake and back?

Re: Trailer help
I should mention the boat will primarily be used in saltwater so I think mild steel unless I could get it on the real cheap would be a bad call.
I live in South Texas near the coast.
Thank y'all for the advice and welcoming.

Wish you were closer, I'm setting up an aluminum trailer and the old one is in good shape I just don't like single axles. I'd practically give it away
I'm going to be around $2700 all in on a 2016 aluminum double axle setup right, so that gives you an idea of costs going that route.
