1994 MacGregor 19 "First Luff"
Boat and trailer in good, clean condition. 150 Genoa is 10yrs old, main is original but ok shape.
Tohatsu 40D engine which runs well and can move the boat at 18knots with ballast empty. Boat has been garage kept between trips, and for past year. I’ve owned First Luff for six years, and she’s served well but is getting too small for our growing family.

Sleeps four, with queen size berth under cockpit.
Enclosed head with porta-potty
Seat cushions aren’t in great shape but I have the foam and covers if you are ambitious and want to make new ones. They are clean (no mildew), just aged and flaking.
US$7000 or $9500cdn

Other modifications
Rollerfurling, 150 Genoa with UV strip, 10 years old.
Tiller link to engine when motoring
Remote throttle
Companionway dodger and matching sail cover.
Raymarine ST1000+ Tiller Pilot
Lines to allow raising the rudders from the cockpit
Emergency automatic bilge pump installed (never needed)
Added fusebox
Depth sounder
Service manual for engine
Main halyard led to cockpit

Last night, there was a Mac 19 for sale (in Winthrop Harbor,IL, I believe, on craigslist) for $200.00. A tree had fallen on the foredeck and did major damage. There were about a dozen pictures. This morning, the listing had been changed to a trailer for sale, for $100, but you also had to take the boat with it. I looked for it tonight, but couldn't find it.

Anyone close to Chicago want to pull a boat to Detroit?
No idea how to get it over the border these days.

OK, I was wrong on the price of the boat by 0, in the initial listing. Did/can you find the price of the trailer? Was it $100, but you had to take the boat with it? Or?

I couldn't find a price for just the trailer. I really shouldn't take on another big project until I get the one in the driveway in the water...
I have another Mac26D in the driveway that stripped of all hardware. I've prepped and started priming with Interlux. It has one coat on it now. The plan before Covid was to trade it or the other one for a Mac 19, or sell it outright, or sail it this summer. (Anyone here with a 19 want to trade for a well kitted 26D? I'm happy to trade either of my 26D's for a well kitted Mac19.)
With the family home I didn't get to the boat in the driveway. Instead we have sailed the other Mac26D and the Siren 17.
On Sunday I gave away my Siren 17 to a family in need of a sailboat. So I have "room" for a Mac 19.
When school is back the family will be out of the house during the day and that will allow me to get back to the Mac in the driveway. It will be ready to sail by next spring for sure.
It only needs: Everything! The hard part is done. I have about 12 hours of sanding the hull in to it.

I compared my Mac 19 to the one on ebay.
The hinged tops of the gas tank lockers were removed, and there's a bench seat all the way athwartship at the aft end of the cockpit, which would make for much more comfortable sitting leg room, in pics 8 and 11, but it looks like it was removed in pic 12.
The steering is interesting. The tiller was removed, with the tiller bracket attached in the middle of a SS tube that goes out to each side and is attached to the top ends of the rudder brackets. To steer, you would just have to push or pull the tube.
It looks like it might have 26X rudders (or similar). The original Mac 19 rudders were not much better down than they were up. I made mine out of aluminum C-scow lee boards that I can hoist or lower.
I have a 26M aft mast carrier which is similar to this one.
It has a small sliding hatch on the aft end of the top hatch, but it looks like it might still hinged on the forward end. I can lift mine on all 4 corners.
I don't see any standing or running rigging but they might be inside the boat.
I hope that the person that buys this boat covers the holes in the floor, in the last picture. They are to access the center-board pivot bolt. If they are not covered, ballast water will flood the cabin.

Thanks for the input. It's good to get info from owners. I've never even been on a 19. But I know it's what I want to replace my Siren17 with.
I have a 26D and love the layout except... No table.
I've sails a 26x a couple times and really like the layout. The 19 is perfect for me and my wife. Or mostly me alone out with my buddies and there boats on Georgian Bay.
I've heard how the 19 doesn't sail very well. I'm sure it will be better than that Siren. Even if it doesn't sail as well the extra headroom in the cabin will be worth switching.

I got one! Almost. It's a 95 in the last 100 made. (If they only made 1000)
It's due to arrive Wed. The 2020 Covid restrictions are a pain to deal with. The boat is in Nova Scotia. (Atlantic Covid bubble) I'm in Ontario... I can't go pick it up. I did find a guy to bring it here next week though. He can travel as he has a commercial trucking license. He was coming back empty and I offered to pay fuel plus.
I got it for $3500 Can. without a motor. (I don't want to powerboat with it.) I have a Mercury 8 with twist shift that I'm going to use on it. I would have sold the 25 that was on it anyway. It was easier to get it without.
I'm looking forward to being able to sit without slouching in a small boat! The Siren 17 I had was about 1" too short inside.
Thanks for the suggestions!

That looks like it might even be the original trailer, based on the skinny members and huge overhang.

Good eye Tom!
Yes it is an original trailer.
Know for being just like dragging a chain when it's empty.
The only problem I've had with an original trailer is keeping the lights on it. They bounce so much the light brackets break off!
The simple and illegal solution is to mount the lights to the fenders....
None of my Mac trailers have had the goal posts... I wonder if they are first to go before the lights?
